Born in London to a musical family, Jeremy Cohen made his first recording as a boy soprano at the age of seven. While at university in Manchester and then in London studying law, he sang with bands and jazz ensembles and later joined the Ne'imah Singers, a male chorus in London that specializes in Jewish liturgical music. Soon after, he embarked on a classical singing career. In December 1999, he sang the title role in Handel's Belshazzar. The following year he gave two opera recitals in Israel and performed The Year's Midnight by Keith Burstein, a cantata for tenor, chorus, and string quartet, on BBC Radio. Recent performances include Verdi's Requiem and a political opera called Manifest Destiny, which was broadcast on BBC television.
