Rodney Winther has been director of wind studies and professor of music at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music since 1997. In addition to conducting the CCM Wind Ensemble and CCM Chamber Players, he advises masters and doctoral conducting students. Winther has appeared as a conductor and clinician around the world, appearing with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Summit Brass, The U.S. Navy Band, The U.S. Naval Academy Band, Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra Wind Ensemble, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra’s Symphonic Winds, Kent Youth Wind Orchestra in England, World Youth Wind Symphony in Interlochen, and the Taller para Bandas del Tachira in Venezuela, where he was the first American to be awarded the Otorga Botón Honor al Mérito. He is also the author of An Annotated Guide to Wind Chamber Music.
